"The pleasure's all mine," the bold-faced lie parts through Katherine's lips easily. Her body and mind are both attuned to such empty pleasantries, where lying is merely a necessary second nature that helps maintain her reputation.

The Elite Four may be intimidating, but no one needs to think she's difficult to work with.

"Ah, I'm sure you will," is another simple lie. Katherine's expectations were, in fact, low. "I know firsthand how rigorous the process of becoming a gym leader is," she's not letting up, is she? The white lies continue.

A capsule is retrieved and from within it emerges Mismagius in a twirl, holding a hand to her lips. She stifles a sinister chuckle before conjuring spectral, blue orbs of WILL O WISP.

Each of them seeks out the Gengar, intent on BURNING the ghost-type.

"Go high," quick and to the point. Choosing a ghost-type against none other than Katherine is not only a grave mistake but also a stupid one. Few are the ghost types she's unfamiliar with and hasn't trained, after all.

Gengar's limitations are easy to identify and exploit from her position.

According to her trainer's command, Mimsagius utilizes her LEVITATE ability to float higher into the air, intent on keeping some distance from the same ground that the other ghost's shadow was bound to.

Spectral blue orbs are still conjured, surrounding the witch as she waits for her opponent to resurface with either a ranged attack or the intent of reaching it in the air. Either way, she'll aim to inflict it with a burn all the same.

Red waves of HYPNOSIS are quick to strike the levitating Mismagius and put her under a spell. The ghost type falls prey to their effect, succumbing to the sleeping curse. Slowly, she begins to descend, no longer actively levitating in the air.

"Hrm, hrm. How troublesome."

There isn't a hint of urgency in Katherine's voice. Instead, just a calm and relaxed tone. She's slow to retrieve her TERA ORB, but what comes next is predictable, if nothing else.

The ghost type shines brilliantly, illuminating the stage as her skin crystallizes and seemingly adopts a yellow diamond's shade and sparkle. Naturally, she is also cured of the gengar's HYPNOSIS.

"Now, where were we, Morgana?" A brief pause, and then she continues, issuing her next order, "Make sure to avoid the next hypnosis, hrm?" A HEX manifests as a murmur of a curse parts through the Mismagius' lips. She takes advantage of the BURN, knowing that the move's damage will double should the attack land.

The HEX indeed goes on lockdown as the CURSED BODY effect dawns upon Mismagius. It's not registered by Katherine at first, but seeing as how her Pokemon had yet to conjure a second HEX, she makes the assumption.

"Let them come," the elite four orders. She receives only a dutiful nod from her ghost, who waits for Gengar to reach them until the dark aura shrouds its fist with a PAYBACK.

Mismagius does not require an order for that.

She executes ME FIRST and allows her hand to glow with a similar, eerie aura to strike Gengar - exchanging blows with the fellow ghost-type when they finally come face to face.

Gengar finds it easy to break away from the Mismagius. Despite the witch's ability to mimic the ghost's moves, there's a visible lack of desire to keep it in close combat.

Katherine, too, appears to be in no rush to bark commands at her Pokemon. She is content with allowing the gym leader ample time to consider her options, moves and course of action. After all, the BURN continues to damage the Gengar - slowly but surely. Time is on their side.

Mismagius' ruby necklace glows with an identical hue as a POWER GEM sparks to life, conjuring beams of light to shoot at the SHADOW BALL, intent on merely dispelling it without ever touching the ghost responsible for it.

They're strictly playing for defence now.

Although there's some improvement to Johanna's tactic, it's easy to spot the flaw in Johanna's SHADOW BALL. Their most glaring weakness was, and still is, light.

It proves trickier this time, seeing as how Morgana had more than one dark sphere to counter-- but POWER GEM was only one of their options. "Light it up," Katherine instructs, prompting the witch pokemon to chant her name before flames slip past her lips, a MYSTICAL FIRE brewing to life.

Naturally, the light provided by the fire is intense-- but less precise than that of a POWER GEM. Few spheres manage to go unscathed, colliding with the former ghost-type not long after.
